All workshops have childcare with a farm-themed craft available for $15 per child. Adult attendance at workshop and pre-registration are required.

All workshops take place at Cropsey Community Farm, rain or shine, unless otherwise noted.

The workshop will cover the basics of seed selection, timing, growing mediums, germination, lighting and making the most of your soil. Farmer Shane Hardy will discuss why you might choose one seed for a 250 member CSA and another for a small home garden. Be prepared to get soiled with soil…

Come and learn how to prepare the soil and create a flourishing and productive garden in our new vegetable field. Farmer Shane Hardy (or Jose Romero Bosch) will walk you through preparing a bed with the right mixture of compost, existing soil and amendments.

High Tunnel Highs and Lows

Every wonder what happens in the plastic bubble we call the high tunnel? Join us for an in-depth tour of our state of the art growing facility. Farmer Jose Romero-Bosch will go over the possibility of extending the growing season, growing tropical plants and the highs and lows of managing this unique environment!
