Summer and Fall Internship Opportunities at Cropsey Community Farm, New City, NY

Farm Team Interns will gain experience working on a fully operational organic farm, growing vegetables, herbs and flowers for a 250-member CSA, local farmers markets and restaurants. This intern will gain skills including crop production, irrigation, composting, harvesting, biodynamic farming practices and organic pest management. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a farm model that is expanding local food production in a densely populated suburban area located just north of New York City.
Requirements for Farm Team Intern candidates:
- Candidates must be matriculated high school, undergraduate or graduate students, able to receive credit hours from institution in exchange for internship. A concentration in the areas of health, food, environmental sciences or policy is strongly desired.
- Be able to perform physical work outdoors for consecutive hours in various weather conditions including summer heat, humidity and rain
- lift and carry 25 pounds
- Work well as a team member, but also be able to work independently, completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Pay attention to detail
Candidates should be able to commit 10-15 hours per week or more for a 12-week minimum (hours can be adjusted to align with schedule).
