There’s a lot going on at Cropsey Community Farm these days! We’re gearing up for our first CSA pick ups next week, which means all hands on deck for harvesting, washing and sorting vegetables. This is a great opportunity for CSA members and RFA volunteers to get involved in the return of local food production in Rockland!
Since early spring, Rockland Farm Alliance has been host to interns from area colleges who are interested in issues such as sustainable agriculture, environmental science and public policy. RFA interns receive college credit in exchange for their experience working alongside the Cropsey Community Farm team. We said goodbye to our Spring interns, Sundas and Michael, earlier this month, and are excited to welcome Elizabeth and Evie to the team! We’re also happy to announce that one of our former interns will be rejoining us in a few weeks. No one can stay away for too long! if you are interested in an internship for late summer or fall, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re excited to be part of Farm to Family Fest, on Saturday, June 2nd from 10am to 3pm at the Rockland BOCES campus at 65 Parrot Road in West Nyack. Some of the happenings that day include free workshops, “green” demonstrations, an eco-bazaar including rain barrels and composting products, a farmers’ market, and showcases of area school gardens. Rockland Farm Alliance will be there, sharing the stories of Rockland’s farming history and present-day farms. Please join us that day as a volunteer or just stop by our tent to say hello! For more information, contact us at email@example.com.
Girl Scout troops and students from the Steiner School in Manhattan are just some of the visitors we have hosted recently at the farm. Have you been there yet? Are you interested in volunteering or bringing a group for a tour and farm chore? please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
