Well folks, we’ve got some great projects going on this week at the farm!
Tuesday we will be replanting some green cabbage that the groundhog got to this weekend, and installing a rodent barrier on the hoophouse.
Wednesday we will be working at the Greenhouse at the Solid Waste Management Authority in Hillburn and will be thinning trays of chard, kale, and kohlrabi. There are also lots of trays of kohlrabi up here at the farm that need thinning. This is a warm and relaxing job for those of you who want to get your hands dirty but not break your back!
Thinning at the farm will be an ongoing project.
This weekend we will be doing some work in the orchard, spreading compost around the base of the trees and applying a compost tea. We will also be laying mulch on the beds where the onions will go, and getting all of the irrigation set up in the field.
We hope to see you out here!
