This Week at the Greenhouse in Hillburn and at Cropsey Farm
Watering, watering and more watering. That is what is needed at the Solid Waste Facility in Hillburn this week, along with seeding peppers and lettuce, thinning plants and moving some plants to Cropsey Farm. If anyone can lend a hand with a van or truck to move those plants, please let us know. All work share opportunities at the Solid Waste Facility are from 7am-Noon and then 3pm to 5pm everyday this week. If there is no sign-in sheet on the premises, please email us your name, membership number and hours and we can keep track for you. firstname.lastname@example.org.
At Cropsey Farm there is more watering to be done, potting of onions, removing rocks from beds, plus staking and making new beds. This work will be going on all day during the week until about 6pm. Sign-in sheet for work share hours is located in the farmhouse, to the right of the back door on the wall. If you don’t remember your member ID number, there is a binder in the same area containing all the IDs. Please sign in and then remember to sign out.
Save the Dates
On Sunday, April 22nd from about 10am-1pm (more details to follow), members are invited to join in on the Perennial Garden Clean Up day at the solid waste facility. This is one day a year that we help with the existing perennial garden in front of the greenhouse and in exchange for the use of their wonderful greenhouse. Rita Louie and Susanne Kernan are Team Leaders for the Special Event Team and will be leading this event.
On Sunday, April 29th we are planning a Meet the Farm Team/Cropsey CSA Orientation Day at the Farm. Come meet the Farm Team, receive a tour of the farm and bond with some other new CSA members. Again, we are in the planning stages, so more details to follow. Anyone wishing to help, please email us at email@example.com.
Have a great week!
