Still got some kohlrabi left from your pick-up? Make kohlrabi cakes!

Here’s a great, informative piece about kohlrabi from our good friends at Hook Mountain Growers (if you were thinking they are kind of small, then this explains why, as well as how best to store them). Be sure to read to the end where a delicious recipe for kohlrabi cakes with minted yogurt sauce awaits!

  1. Karen says:

After picking up Kohlrabi a few weeks in a row and not knowing what to do with them or even if I wanted to try . . . . we “took the leap”, simply peeled them and ate them “as is” or dipped into pesto. They are crunchy and taste like jicama but even better, I think. Yum!

  2. Margaret says:

We diced them and stirfried them with garlic and onions. Then added greens and cooked until the greens were wilted. Served them with Hoppin’ John (blackeyed peas and rice) for a real Southern meal!

  3. Gina says:

Our new favorite veggie is Kohlrabi! We cut the veggie into really small pieces, then bake for a few minutes with olive oil, garlic, and salt….YUM!
